đ Course Overview This foundational course provides comprehensive training in interpersonal heritage interpretation, emphasising direct, people-focused engagement with visitors in cultural, natural, and historic settings. Participants will explore both theory and practice to develop interpretation that is audience-centred, mission-aligned, and resource-based. Objective: Equip participants with foundational skills and attitudes to deliver interpersonal heritage interpretation that connects with diverse audiences, using interpersonal communication techniques grounded in interpretive principles. Throughout the course, learners will be introduced to the P.O.E.T.R.Y. method from the National Association for Interpretation (NAI), a structured approach that supports the creation of programs that are Purposeful, Organized, Enjoyable, Thematic, Relevant, and personal to You and your audience.
